Hello,
I'm the admin for an educators site hosted here since last fall. It was created with RapidWeaver & has an embedded WordPress blog. Currently, I'm helping to migrate my MUG's domain to a new site at MacHighway. The MUG's new site will be a WP installation.
While working on the MUG's site, I compared it to some of the cPanel settings & structure of the educators site. (The educators site is hosted on selma & the MUG site is on jasper.) There are some differences with the apps on the cPanels & installed software versions.
The cPanel on selma doesn't have the File Manager or Legacy File Manager apps in the Files section, or Fantastico De Luxe or Site Builder (old) in the Software/Services section that are included on jasper. I note that the cPanel version on selma is 11.30.0 (build 27) but on jasper it's 11.30.0 (build 32), & the MySQL version on selma is 5.1.56, but on jasper it's 5.0.92-community.
I wanted to look at the directory & files installed on my educators site on selma, but I was not able to using the (missing) File Manager. I did discover that I could view my directory with the Disk Space Usage app under Files. From there, clicking on a displayed directory, File Manager would load in a new tab. But, regardless of whichever directory I select, it says "This directory is empty.". This is certainly wrong.
Since I started writing this post (within the past hour), I see that 4 additional apps have been added to the Preferences section, 6 have been added to the Mail section, 5 have been added to the Software/Services section, 3 have been added to the Security section, & 4 have been added to the Advanced section on jasper. Will these "missing" apps be added to the selma cPanel?
I think there are some other differences, but... Maybe I'm missing something, but please explain why the installed cPanel apps are different between these servers. And, more importantly, why does the File Manager on selma indicate that directories are empty when clearly they are not.
Thanks for giving this your attention.
