Angry Bots are invading my site - using WordPress - how do I delete users?

For about an hour, I had seven new accounts created - from 'bikinigirl' to 'sellpandorajewelry', etc. I have "captcha" installed and have activated Akismet. One user posted a series of messages with keywords mixed with Chinese characters. I am very new to this and don't know how to delete these 'fake' users.

Can someone please help? You can visit my little blog at www.clintondyches.com.

    Thanks,

    Clinton

Firstly you might want to do 2 things.

Number 1. Disable registrations temporarily in Settings --> General and untick the box next to "Anyone can register" Choose save at the bottom of the webpage.

Number 2. Proceed to the admin area and on the left-hand menu in the section labelled "users" in their usually be out to delete the unwanted users.

Next is there any reason why you're using BuddyPress? You may also want to check on buddypress.org to see if Akismet can protect you from spam account signup as well its usual comment protection.

OK, I have disabled the "Anyone can register" and saved that, and I've deleted the suspicious accounts.

I'm using the "buddypress" template... so I activated the "buddypress" plugin - "Social networking in a box". I'm very, very new to this!

    Thanks for your help,

    Hi, Clinton

Before you re-enable registration, You may want to consider if you need to run a social network or if you just want a simple blog or website.
