    Scripts relation -newbie question

I wasn't sure where this went. I have just joined MacHighway from MobileMe (long gone) and had absolutely zero problems uploading from iWeb. A few things went missing that were expected. Comments for one. That was expected. My question relates to the cpanel and scripts. As I said; I've uploaded the website, what now. How do the scripts (simple scripts-for example) relate to my website? Are they something that work strictly at the site on the servers? Does it affect or load to iWeb? I figure not likely. I've been reading the install directions for the scripts and it's a little vague. Not to mention not having a clue as to what each one does. Even the explanations are a vague to a newbie.
And that's the reason I referenced the comments. I would like to put comments back. It's a little local community and VFW site but feedback is important.
    Thanks in advance.

Simple scripts let you install web applications on MacHighway servers I don't recommend you use Simple scripts to install web applications take a look at QuickInstall. in 99% of cases these will not work with iWeb but there is a lot of great solutions that you could use to replace iWeb with and build a new website or transfer. I can highly recommend WordPress it sounds like it would be perfect to replace your iWeb website.

and it could do what you mentioned below very easily.

Thanks for your reply. I'm still looking at options. I'm guessing none of the scripts will work outside of the provided (Wordpress and such).

You could run several of the scripts/applications together if you really wanted to it really depends on what you want to achieve.

For the user group I run "User Next, Apple and Macintosh User Group" We use WordPress for our main website and we use SMF as we require a messageboard for our members to communicate.

The User Next main website consists of 3 installations of WordPress and a installation of SMF. Members have access to a frequently asked questions application and we also run a wiki. for internal use by our admin's we have a support ticket system we also run an application to keep track of our social networking we also run several scripts designed for backing up.

Well you lost me on all accounts. I'm at that point where I can barely understand a good reply much less ask a good question. I've picked up some reading material and managed to get a comment section with an HTML snippet. I may put up a second site for a test site using Wordpress. I got a steep learning curve.

If you want to go a little bit more sophisticated I suggest you find someone to help you. a friend that had some experience or maybe you may need to even find a web designer.
