Support Topics: Email: Troubleshooting: I cannot send email

If you are having problems sending email from your MacHighway hosted account, you will want to review your account settings for sending mail.

Due to the policies of most ISPs, we recommend that you use your ISPs outgoing mail server. Many access providers, in an effort to control spam sent via their service, will only allow SMTP access using their SMTP servers. If you have sucessfully been using your ISPs SMTP server and are suddenly experiencing problems, you will want to contact them for technical support regarding that issue. If you are unsure of the correct outgoing server, you will want to contact your ISP.

If you are on an irregular connection, such as at a cafe or a hotel, the easiest option will be to use our webmail system.

If you'd prefer to try using our system to send outgoing messages, you can find detailed instructions for sending through our mail server here.

If you have been successfully using mail.machighway.com to send email and it has suddenly stopped working, go into your outgoing mail settings and change your port from 25 to 587 and try to send again. If this does not solve your problem, you will want to contact your ISP and ask them to help you setup your outgoing server settings to send through their servers. They may have changed their policies which would require you to send using their servers.

If you are still having problems receiving email, please give us a call.
