Support Topics: Email: Troubleshooting: I cannot send or receive email


If you are having problems with both sending and receiving emails, you will want to first check to make sure that you have an active and stable connection to the internet. An easy way to do this is to go to a site like Google.com (external link) and search for a topic you've never searched for before. If your search returns any results other than an error, you can be assured that your internet connection is active.

If you've established that you do have an internet connection, but are still not sending or receiving email you will want to review your account settings for sending and receiving mail.

If, upon trying to send and receive again, you are still unsuccessful you will want to disable any software firewalls you may have setup on your computer. If setup incorrectly, a firewall can disrupt incoming and outgoing communication from your computer. If you don't know immediately how to disable your firewall, you will want to refer to the documentation that came with the software or go to the manufacturer's website.

If you don't have a firewall or disabling it still doesn't allow you to send or receive email, you will want to try to login to webmail.machighway.com and ensure that your login settings are correct.

If you can successfully login using webmail but not through your email client, you will want to try using a different email application (either on a different computer or a different email application on the same computer) to see if you successfully connect.
