1. In order to use MacFusion, you will first need to download and install MacFuse from Google. To do that, go to http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/downloads/list (external link) and choose the MacFUSE-Core-x.x.x.dmg file (x.x.x represents the version number).
2. Once that's downloaded, double click the MacFUSE-Core-x.x.x.dmg file that's now on your computer. This will mount a disk image onto your computer called MacFuse x.x.x. In a Finder window, you will see the image on the left. Open this MacFuse x.x.x disk image.

3. You will now see a file called MacFuse Core.pkg. Double click this to begin the installation. Once the installation is complete, you will need to restart your computer. Once your Mac has restarted, you can eject the MacFuse x.x.x. disk image from the Finder and delete the MacFuse-Core-x.x.x.dmg file from your computer.
4. In a web browser, go to http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/08/mgorbach/MacFusionWeb/ (external link), click on the Download link and download the MacFusion x.x.dmg file.
5. Once that file is downloaded, double click the MacFusion x.x.dmg file that's now on your computer. This will mount a disk image onto your computer called MacFusion x.x. In a Finder window, you will see the image on the left. Open this MacFusion x.x disk image.

6. You will see an application called MacFusion. Move that application from the disk image to your Applications folder. Once that transfer is complete, you can eject the MacFusion x.x disk image from the finder and delete the MacFusionx.x.dmg file.
7. Go to your applications folder and launch the MacFusion application.
8. Once launched, you'll see the MacFusion icon on the right side of the menu bar. Click the icon, go to Favorites and click Edit....

9. A window will pop up with the title "MacFusion Favorites". On the bottom left side, you will see a "+" sign. Click that and select FTP to create a new favorite FTP location.

10. Under name, choose a name that will help you remember which site it is you're connecting to. Using the site's domain name may be the easiest route to go. In this example, we're using "My Website".
11. Type the FTP server name from your welcome letter from MacHighway into the "Server" field. This will likely be an IP address.
12. In the server path field, type "/public_html" (without the quotes). This specifies that you want to login to the public_html folder when you connect.
13. In the Username field, type the username you selected to use with this MacHighway account (which can be found in the welcome letter also). Click OK.
14. Click the red circle in the top left of the MacFusion Favorites window to close it out.
15. On the right side in the menu bar, click the MacFusion icon, select Favorites and then choose the name of the connection we've just created.
16. You will be prompted to enter your FTP password. You can find this in your welcome letter from MacHighway. After entering the password, click "Save to keychain" so that you won't have to type this in again. Click OK to connect.
17. Once you're successfully connected, you will see your FTP space on the MacHighway servers mounted on your desktop.
