What you would use this for: If you've ever watched a movie trailer presented in Quicktime format, you've likely seen fast start in action. Fast start works by calculating the approxomate time a movie will finish downoading and begins playback of the move so that it will correspond with that expected end time. That way the person viewing your movie doesn't have to wait for the file to fully download before viewing your movie.

What You Need:

3. In the "Save As:" text field, name your movie. Don't forget the ".MOV" extension at the end. In the "Export:" drop down menu, select Movie to QuickTime Movie. In the "Use:" drop down menu, select the size of the movie you'd like to have. It's pretty safe to consider that the bulk of your visitors are on broadband.

4. Click the "Options..." button next to the "Export" drop down menu.
